University of Notre Dame and University of Northern Colorado Recognized for Case Management Solutions Leveraging OnBase by Hyland
2017 Global Awards for Excellence in Case Management recognize innovative solutions that improve data-intensive processes across campuses
The Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) recently selected the University of Notre Dame and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) to receive 2017 Global Awards for Excellence in Case Management. The institutions were acknowledged for their adaptive approaches to case management leveraging the OnBase by Hyland enterprise information platform, marking the fourth consecutive year that the WfMC has recognized Hyland’s customers with this award.
These prestigious annual awards recognize organizations worldwide that have demonstrably excelled in implementing innovative case management solutions. Winners were selected by a global panel of judges, comprised of leading experts on case management and business process management (BPM).
“Universities are tasked with handling tremendous amounts of data on a daily basis, making a leading content services platform like OnBase crucial in ensuring their processes are the most efficient and effective,” said Laurel Stiller, solution marketing manager at Hyland. “Notre Dame and UNC are examples of forward-thinking institutions taking a holistic approach to information management to transform operations and deliver exceptional service. We congratulate them for winning the Global Awards for Excellence in Case Management and are eager to see the continued growth and success of their OnBase solutions.”
Already using OnBase to digitize admissions, Notre Dame turned to the platform to simplify their world-class “First Year of Studies” advising processes and better manage student records. The university rapidly configured a flexible case management application without relying on custom code. Since initial implementation, Notre Dame has scaled the solution across all six of its undergraduate colleges while also extending the OnBase platform for case-driven applications that support graduate students and student athletes.
“With our OnBase case management solution, we were able to elevate the quality and efficiency of our advising processes and interactions,” said Julia Bruckert, applications development specialist at Notre Dame. “With greater visibility and access to complete student files, advisors spend less time manually filing and searching for information. This enables them to focus on what’s truly important — providing excellent support for students.”
UNC leveraged OnBase case management capabilities to bring visibility, compliance support and control to its campus-wide contracting processes while eliminating inefficiencies and paper waste. By implementing a tailored case management solution, UNC improved the entire contract lifecycle, from request to contract execution and beyond.
“OnBase provides a 360-degree view of all contract-related information and supporting documents, giving us more awareness and control throughout each stage of the contract management process,” said Cristal Swain, assistant legal counsel and chief procurement officer at UNC. “With over 300 users across the university and the capability to manage 15 different types of contracts, the solution positively impacts every area of campus with contractual needs.”
This year’s Global Awards for Excellence in Case Management winners were announced via a live webinar on July 19, 2017. Winning organizations will also receive additional recognition by having their case studies published in the next edition of the “Excellence in Practice Series” by Future Strategies, Inc.
