Texas Agency Recognized as an Innovative Technology Leader

Hill County, Texas, was recognized as a government innovator at Hyland's annual user conference, CommunityLIVE, where over 1,700 OnBase end users, developers, customers and partners were in attendance.

Sharon Camarillo, IT director at Hill County, presented on new efficiencies the county has achieved since deploying its ShareBase cloud-sharing solution, and linking it to the county's existing OnBase enterprise information management platform.

'Since implementing ShareBase and integrating it with our OnBase platform, we've tackled additional projects to improve processes within our County Judge's Office, Probate Court, Child Protective Services and the 911 Addressing Branch of the Sheriff's Office,' Camarillo said. 'I'm proud of our new 911 mapping solution that provides relevant and critical content to personnel, both in the office or out in the field via mobile devices. Being able to access all content related to an address while in the field provides a huge efficiency to ensure information is accurate when emergency services are needed.'

Having the correct address is extremely important in a county that has approximately 1,200 miles of country roads. Using ShareBase and OnBase, the Sheriff's Office 911 Mapping Department gains access to verification forms including floodplain permits, structures on properties, address request forms, GPS validation forms and historical address information, from anywhere, accelerating their ability to process requests. With information sourced through ShareBase, address validation and adjustments can be made to insure valid addresses are current when emergency services such as medical, fire or law enforcement are directed to a location

'Hill County is a prime example of a government that excels in leveraging innovative technology solutions to solve its pain points, even with limited resources,' said Terri Jones, government principal at Hyland. 'We're looking forward to continuing our work together, and extending Hyland's OnBase and ShareBase functionality into other departments to achieve additional ROI.'

In addition to Hill County, another Texas agency was recognized for its success using OnBase. The City of Houston received the OnBase Government Innovation Award for its CBP credentialing solution, utilizing OnBase Workflow to streamline the application process to grant agents special access to international gates.
