Hyland Healthcare Adds New Enterprise Medical Imaging Council to Roster of Advisors

New council joins three existing professional groups providing Hyland Healthcare with real-world insights

In January 2018, Hyland Healthcare hosted the first meeting of its newly formed enterprise medical imaging council as part of the software company’s annual gathering of healthcare industry advisory councils. The imaging council, comprised of imaging experts across the continuum of care, is the fourth group of healthcare professionals to share expert guidance and real-world scenarios with the software company. The other three advisory councils are made up of physicians, nurses and healthcare IT executives, respectively.

In order to create a robust, accurate picture of the healthcare technology landscape, all four advisory councils consist of both Hyland Healthcare customers and non-customers, represent large healthcare systems to small community hospitals, and utilize a variety of electronic medical records and other technology. This year’s hot topics during the meetings included intelligent capture and machine learning; how to make clinicians more efficient and how technology can support the best use of their time; as well as the continuity of care and improved patient experience.

“The importance of Hyland Healthcare’s advisory councils can’t be overstated. These knowledgeable professionals take time to share their day-to-day experiences and practical insights so our team can continue building software solutions that respond to real-world needs,” said Susan deCathelineau, vice president of global healthcare sales and services at Hyland. “It’s exciting to hear from experts who interact with patients as well as those who manage the business side of healthcare organizations. We then generate strategies to address the quality and cost challenges confronting today’s healthcare delivery system.”

The first Hyland Healthcare advisory council was formed in 2013 with a group of physicians. By 2014, Hyland Healthcare added a nursing advisory council to hear from this important faction of end users. A CIO advisory council was created in 2017 to engage with experts who manage technology, budgets and other resources within healthcare organizations. Since these three groups provided a good view of role-based needs within healthcare, the enterprise medical imaging council was created in 2018 to capture the ways these roles interact around medical imaging, a key function across all specialties and healthcare organizations.

The focus on medical imaging also reflects Hyland Healthcare’s large suite of imaging products following the 2017 acquisition of the Perceptive business unit. Now part of the Hyland Healthcare suite, these open, flexible, configurable, intuitive solutions are vendor neutral and include PACSgear by Hyland, Acuo by Hyland and NilRead.
